CicloRecreoVía is a network of streets throughout Santiago that are closed every Sunday morning to motorized traffic and open to the public. In the absence of vehicular traffic, thousands of people take advantage of the opportunity to safely walk, rollerskate, bike, or engage in other forms of exercise on the tranformed roads.

The concept behind CicloRecreoVia is to create a “linear park” throughout the metropolitan area consisting of streets and primary roads that pass through all of the city from north to south and from east to west, uch that as many people as possible will have the opportunity and the space, every Sunday of the year, to get out of their houses and exercise, spend time with their family, and visit with their neighbors. We aim to replicate the massive success seen in other cities in Latin America.

uch that as many people as possible will have the opportunity and the space, every Sunday of the year, to get out of their houses and exercise, spend time with their family, and visit with their neighbors. We aim to replicate the massive success seen in other cities in Latin America. 130 kilometers and a weekly attendance of 400,000 people, which will make it the largest, most original, and most successful example of physical activity and community interaction in Santiago and in all of Chile.
