How does it work?
There is a temptation to believe that enable a CicloRecreoVía is a simple work, and that reality, simply the will to do it and dispose of safety cones.
Regarding people in charge of the activity, one tends to think that enable streets to people is a light work that can be assumed and based on the work of volunteers, or even worse, some people think that an activity like this could be built delegating all the responsibilities and decisions, in the police force.
However, all this thoughts are deep mistakes.
Making a CicloRecreoVía requires an effort, perseverance, organization, responsibility, mystique and dedication.
Effort, because it requires to work on Sundays, early (6 or 7 o’clock in the morning) and be in good condition and readiness to serve, continuously throughout the journey, which can be extended until 15.30 pm.
Perseverance, because it is an activity to be performed every Sunday of the year.
Organization, because schedules must be respected to do the right thing with the user and to cause the least inconvenience to motorists.
Accountability, because the life of people is at stake.
Mysticism, because whoever is not mystical or love for the activity seen only as a way of earning dividends.
Dedication, because it is a highly demanding work (it must be prepared the whole week in order to its successful implementation every Sunday).
